I sell to a number of countries around the world. But just because you can sell in countries A,B and C doesn't mean you'll simply be able to sell to countries X,Y,Z. Customs and import requirements vary, often quite significantly, from country to country. Furthermore, you imply that Ukraine was somehow in the wrong here. The issue was more likely that the exporter sent the stuff with no clue as to the import requirements of the destination country. And sending the product to the Embassy of Ukraine? I happen to know most of the staff there. Such a stunt would be silly. And such an arrogant and uninformed approach to interational trade -- typical of American business culture -- is a recipe for failure. Look, i run an export trading company.
