What is interesting to me is that there was a time when many businesses especially restruarants would send out birthcards. I get very few any more. Revieved a card from each of my insurance agents but that was about it. With todays technology it is much easier than ever before. 
I use one of the send-a-cards services that was introduced to me by the local GKIC IBA for Sacramento.  It is handy for many occasions.  I have used it as a follow up when a special report has been mailed.
