@AA, Im really not sure and like many things related to merchant accounts/cards, it likely changes depending on the day of the week AND the purchase volume involved. Id give the major card merchants a call and see what kind of options you have. Id also be surprised not to find a resource for this info online - perhaps by some sort of broker that allows you to buy in smaller lots.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I own an online store and want to start selling gift cards at retail locations to enable users to redeem them at the online store. I have never worked with retail merchnats before, do you what their cut is when selling gift cards, I would typically be looking at places like Halmark and other gift stores.

Thank You

DW, If you are looking for long-term stability, I would choose the retail cards carefully. Which vendors are safe? Hard to say. Circuit City seemed safe. Visa and Mastercard cards, on the other hand, can be obtained by talking with your merchant vendor or with those companies themselves in some cases. Most MSPs these days have access to branded gift cards as well.

Thank You for your expertise. How do I directly sell gift cards as a vendor for retail stores and for Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Right now, I am able to offer the gift cards through another company. However, I do not want to pin my business solely on a company that may or may not be that reputable or that might go out of business. I want to be able to deal with the providers of the gift cards directly. What would be my approach?
