MONEY talks and you know what walks kids! It wears fancy suits and saunters around Washington wrapped in a cloak of "product safety" while likely taking all kinds of special interest money from deep pocketed manufacturers whose products are made in China.

I'm sure you've stopped wondering by now, but I wonder if Michelle Obama (already gaining fame as a frugal and chic First Lady to Be) knows her kids are about to be naked and toyless come Feb 10.

Myrindas last blog post..A Glimmer of Hope on the CPSIA Front

Melanie,

Perhaps more noticeable by the public at large - when and if those business owners are forced to close, the purchases that their businesses used to make will cease. The impact of those dollars spreads far and wide.

Very well written! And all true, if this badly written law stands as is...there must be some amendments made...especially with regards to products made with natural fibers...it's Washington run amok! And most likely the final nail in the coffin of the US Economy. And consumers won't know it, until it hits them between the eyes, when they show up at the store, and can't buy anything for their child...or they have the choice of 10 items...all made in China, of course! Anyone reading this, please get involved, tell others, do research on the issue yourself, and most importantly contact your congressmen and ask that they act to make amendments BEFORE February 10th!
